Lost in nowhere

I'm still in Adelaide. Most of the time, I spent in the state library, (*_*). I like libraries, I feel comfortable there. Surrounding by books and readers makes me feel like in a peaceful place. Near to the library, there are universities. I saw many students everyday. It seems there are many Chinese and African here. Hmm...

Anyway, I'm going to Perth. With Gavin and Philip. Thanks them for giving me a lift. I think I'll get a job there. But I don't even have a vague plan.

We'll probably arrive Perth on Saturday which is thirty-first May. That means, half a year past. Well, what to do next?

I'm lost. A bit mentally tired. Hope that mood won't bother me too long.

See ya, my friends. Cheers.

Along the road trip

From Melbourne through great ocean road to Adelaide, it's about 1000 kilometers. In seven nights and seven days, we had a lot of time to do sightseeing and exploring.

However, I'd not got too exciting about the scenes along the southern coast. After Tasmania I was a bit tired of sightseeing. There's nothing wrong with the great ocean road and those beautiful views of beaches, bays, rocks, and sands. It's my problem that I can't cherish the differences between them. Though I still enjoyed this road trip. I told you, let me remind you again. It doesn't matter where you go; what matters is the friends whom you go with.

Philip and Gavin are versatile. Along this trip, I sat in the back of their car. It's illegal to lie down on the mattress of the van (I just got to know this several days ago).
They can pitch a tent.

(Their car, of the right, has a name: Millennium Falcon. Same as the spaceship of Han Solo.)

They can make a campfire.

They can BBQ.

They can fix a car and handle the problems.

And they can drink! A lot.

I had some conversations with them while driving on the road. They have been in Aussie for 3 or 4 months(sorry I forget), and I asked them where will they go next, what's their plan. Well, Philip usually answered me "go with the flow". Heyhey, haha. Go with the flow. Good, then please tell me where is the flow.

Bells Beach, near to Torquay.

Sometimes I envy those mates who travel together. Isn't that very good?

Gavin and Philip, cheers together.

Laura and Jennie, have a cup of tea in the morning together.

Shiori and Miho, in the front.

French guys.

Matthew and Marion

Kouei and Seishiro

Elle and June

Chris and Chris

Hannah

and Martha

Zoe

and Dawn

Even with that said, I wonder. Is it possible for me to accompany with another one? Most of time, I was alone. I spent time being alone. While I traveled in Tasmania and in this road trip, I felt I had no enough time to be alone. I need some time per everyday to give to myself. And I suppose I need more than others. That's the problem, uh, I should call it a problem That's the cause why I still prefer travel alone as long as sometimes I can have fun with friends.

The first night, in a caravan park in Torquay.

I drank too much and too fast. Damn it, drinking games.

A good child shall not even imitate it. Uncle(me) had practiced(spew) many times already.

Thanks Laura for inviting to join the road trip.

Teddy's lookout. Astonishing.

Wow, wild koala. It's moving! I wanna catch one and bring it home.

Jennie, who made the trip full of joy and laughter.

Twelve Apostles. To me, in a bad weather, they looked like twelve criminals.

One day, I said to Gavin: "The most two important things of human beings are to eat and sleep."

He responded: "and to breath and to shit." Good job, Gavin.

After I told Laura and Jennie, Jennie amended: "and to make a baby." Well done, Jennie.

Blue Lake in Portland. Pretty blue.

Go with the flow. I don't know where is the flow.

Pretty good. a pretty good road trip. really.

Again, thanks, Laura.

PS. sorry, this blog is beyond my capability to polish. So it looks like composed of many separated pieces.

Road trip from Melbourne to Adelaide

At this drinking night(well, do you notice that many of my recently blogs are about booze?), Laura proposed an idea: road trip to west coast! My plan was forced be adjusted again. Originally I didn't have any plan to go to west side. And, one friend of my parents' friends who living in Perth arranged accommodation, meals, and job for me there. Holy *bi*(censored), if I had to go to accept it, I would rather go home. So I decided I'll never go to Perth. (silly and childish). I planned to traveled around Australia including Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Alice Springs, Darwin, and Queensland. Excluded Tasmania and Perth.

This cake looked like a hedgehog.

However, a plan is always changed. And a plan is supposed to be modified. I went to Tasmania, and I would like to travel with Laura and Jennie to go to west coast.

Originally, the plan was pretty big. Several members would travel from Melbourne through great ocean road to Adelaide, then to Perth. Some members would work for a while in Perth and wait there. Though like I said, a plan always transforms into another one which you don't expect it will go like this way. Finally, the fellowship of the road trip is Laura, Jennie, me, and Gavin and Philip!

Philip on the left, Gavin on the right. They were roasting toasts for breakfast.

We got gathered in Melbourne, and started to look for the information for buying a van.

And just in less than three days, Laura did buy a van, you see, and its name is "Herbie"!

I had not taken many shots, so most of the photos are from Laura and Philip. I don't wanna steal theirs, consequently I only uploaded few photos.

20080502 Road Trip from Melbourne to Adelaide

We stopped at Adelaide, after seven nights and seven days. The van and petrol and other stuff costed Laura and Jennie too much. And Gavin and Philip would like to get a job near to Adelaide. So that's it. It happened again, a plan is always changed, whatever.

State Library of South Australia.

I've been in Adelaide for 7 days, upload photos and write blogs of what happened. Nearly completed. Since the date 2007/12/01 which was the day I came to Australia, five months and two weeks past. Such lots of things happened that my brain had been bloated and stuffed for a long long time. Now I feel better after some blogs were written. But mind you, there are some subtle and delicate thoughts and experience that I just can't articulate or make sentences describing them. I hope my writing could be like a simmering caldron with shimmering fumes, increasingly improved, to attain some kind of level which lets me put them down.

I still remember the first day I dragged my luggage through streets to find my hostel. Now, I'm in Adelaide sitting in the library, typing with my MacBook, using some free wireless internet, and I met a Pakistan yesterday who have studied and worked in Aussie for 7 years. And I don't know where to go and what to do next.

There are 6 months left in Australia. Let me see what are going to be witnessed.

Starting to find a job

I'm starting to find a job. It seems that near to Adelaide, most job vacancies s are pruners and citrus pickers.

I usually use Harvest Trail of Australian Job Search to look for job information. Somebody prefer Seek. But by the experience, I'll also ask my friends to inquire job vacancy for me. (Thank you!)

Thanks to google map. Let me know how far away the farms are.

I'm wondering where is my next stop. Wish there are more exciting and fabulous experience waiting for me. Let's go go go.
